English vocabulary, heard in films

Say it better.

wettabetta makes short videos for English learners. Each one takes an everyday phrase and shows a stronger word for it, spoken by a real actor in a classic public domain film.

Two kinds of videos

Say it better. A few phrases, each followed by the film line where the stronger word is heard. The video ends on one more phrase and asks which word you would use.

Guess the word. A film line plays with one word beeped out, and you pick the missing word from three options before the countdown ends.

Where to watch

On Instagram at @wetta.betta, and on Facebook at wettabetta. YouTube Shorts and TikTok are coming.

How the videos are made

wettabetta runs a small studio app. It finds a line in a public domain film where the word is spoken, checks by speech recognition that the word is really heard, and turns it into a vertical video with the word, its pronunciation and the film's name.

The studio app is used only by wettabetta. It connects to wettabetta's own YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts to publish these videos, and to nothing else. The privacy policy lists exactly what it accesses and stores.
